Air and Ground Source Heat Pumps

  • Q) My house is an old house. Can I still install one of your systems in my property?

  • A) Yes! Providing that the property is well insulated (which will be assessed in the survey), there is no problem at all. We will ensure that the system is right for your property

  • Q) My house is listed. Can I still install one of your systems in my property?

  • A) Yes! Providing all is done to ensure heat loss is minimal. Listed buildings do not have to attain the D rating on the EPC.

  • Q) How much does a system like this cost?

  • A) To fit a full system into an existing heating network will depend on the system design and particular site requirements. On average a three bed home would cost from approx £9,000

  • Q) What kind of maintenance can I expect?

  • A) Very little, mainly system maintenance checks. We can provide a yearly heat pump service package on annual or monthly payments. (please ask for details)

  • Q) What warranties do you provide?

  • A) We offer different warranties depending on the equipment and parts supplied. A minimum warranty would be 3 years (please ask for details)

  • Q) Do I need planning permission?

  • A) It will depend - although the planning has been relaxed since 2008. Some restrictions still apply

  • Q) Can a heat pump provide 100% of my heating and domestic hot water needs?

  • A) Yes

  • Q) Do I need to increase the size of my electricity service?

  • A) A normal supply size of 100amp is usually sufficient

  • Q) How efficient is the heat pump?

  • A) It depends on how it is used, but can have efficiencies of 300% or more

  • Q) How much does a system like this cost?

  • A) This depends on use, but 15 to 20 years would not be unusual.

  • Q) Which type of projects are best for these systems?

  • A) Insulated draught-free properties with underfloor heating are the most efficient, but most properties can be accommodated with a proper design

  • Q) What warranties do you provide?

  • A) Up to 5 year manufacturer parts warranty, and a 5 year workmanship warranty backed
    by industry standard guarantees

  • Q) We don’t get much sun in the UK so does it work on cloudy days?

  • A) The systems do not require direct sunlight. It uses ambient air, ground or water temperature, i.e. a lake or pond
